Charles Garrod
I am seeking information on a Charles Garrod born about 1890, possibly earlier, in London. He served in the Kensington Met police and transferred to the Hong Kong police at some point. In 1912 he thwarted an assassination attempt on the incoming Governor of Hong Kong when he was a sergeant. He subsequently rose through the ranks, married an Eileen in Hong Kong and had two daughters. I understand he returned to the UK, after WW2, and died in the early 1950s. I have not been able to establish any positive details for him. Any help especially his time in Hong Kong would be appreciated by family members. Keith
