red mail Pooles with Newfoundland links
In the 1840s, 50s, and 60s there were a slew of Poole families living in and around Hant's Harbour, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. Family lore has it that these Pooles, or the preceding generation, came from Dorset or Devon, conjecture that makes sense given the early settlement pattern of Trinity Bay. I'd like to know where these people came from. I'm most interested in George Poole, my great-great-grandfather, who married Susan Buckler at Hant's Harbour in 1853. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

red mail BEATRICE MOLE-WILLIAM MOLE
Anyone related to a Beatrice Mole (1819-1874) maiden name unknown, married to William. She was from a place called Loadens(sp?) in Dorset. Tehy moved to Middlesex about 1844 and had many, many chidlren. Descendents from her daughter Elizabeth (1846-1906) who moved with her husband James Murray to Australia can respond. I am descended from Elizabeth's younger brother William (1850-1911), my great-grandfather, who moved to Canada in 1890 with his wife Camelia Dally, and three children. They had three more children in Canada, and I am descended from William's youngest son Hugh Mole. They lived on Walworth Road in London, until 1890.
