red mail Have You Lost A Legg?
Job LEGG to be precise. My mother-in-law was Flossie LEGG who came from several generations of LEGGs who lived in Buriton, Hants. The name can be traced back to Job LEGG b c.1801 if the age on his death certificate is reliable. Only other informationfrom 1841 census is that he was born out of Hampshire. From IGI it seems that most Job LEGGs hail from Dorset, so is anyone missing him from their tree? Would also be interested to hear from anyone who has their Job LEGG as that would eliminate himfrom inquiries!

red mail Stone
Looking for any additional information on the Stone family please. Our Great Great Grandparents were Thomas Alexander Stone born c1836 Portland Dorset and Althea Ellen Davison born c1839 Dorchester. To confuse things a bit Althea appears to have married George White in 1857 before our Great Great Grandfather. Thomas and Althea may have had 6 children Thomas, James, Rebecca, Jane, Isabella and our Great Grandmother Ellen Elizabeth Stone born c1871 Portland Dorset. At some time after 1871 they migrated to New Zealand where they lived for about 18 years before moving on to Australia where they lived in Melbourne until finally settling in Western Australia. Thomas died there in 1920 and Althea died in 1909.
