DESPERATELY SEARCHING for help with My 3 x great grandfather who was THOMAS HARRIS. He was born about 1791-3 place unknown. He was married in 1815 to Jane Gosling (also known as Jenny Bartlett Gosling) at Salcombe Regis in Devon in 1815. Thomas was buried at Salcombe Regis in 1859. Thomas was an agricultural labourer. Their children were baptised at Salcombe Regis:- William (1816), Mary (1820), Eliza (baptised 1822 & buried 1824), Robert (1823), Eliza (1826), John (1828), James (1831), Henry (1837). The family are on Salcombe Regis 1841 and 1851 census living at Trow in Salcombe Regis. Does anyone recognise these names in their family tree?

red mail POWER...1807 - 1854
Hi, Looking for my family in Devon. I have Mathew Power married Elizabeth Fisher on the 28 October 1807 in the Parish of Northam, North Devon. Elizabeth had Mary Power christened on the 22 February 1808, and Eliza on the 30 September 1810 in the Parish of Northam. At this time Mathew was the Mate on the ship, Hiram of Plymouth. In 1811 he became the Master Mariner on the schooner, Mary of Plymouth and moved his family down to Plymouth to join him. They had been living with Elizabeth’s parents in Appledore. In about 1817 Elizabeth had a son, Austin Power…..and in 1819 another son, Thomas Power. Later in about 1827 she had another daughter, Justina Power. By 1836 to 1844 both sons are seamen on the ships, and each time Thomas leaves a ship as Mate, Austin takes over his job. Then in 1844 we find Thomas as the Master Mariner on the ship Richard & Ann. His Mate is Austin. That same year, 26 March 1844, Austin married Harriet Bardens in the Plymouth (Charles Martyr) Church. Meanwhile we have had Mary marry Samuel Axworthy Jackson (accountant) in the Stoke Damerel in 1828, Eliza marry Robert Parsons (plumber) in 1842, and then Thomas marry Elizabeth Jeffery in 1839….all in the Stoke Damerel. Then in 1851 Eliza married Charles Blyth (plumber). Would love to find out Mary's death...before 1851 I believe. Elizabeth died in 1858 and is buried in Ford Park Cemetery. If this is your family I would appreciate a contact with you. Thanks.
