red mail Malkinson ans Bowstead
Looking for information re Arthur Malkinson b. 1790-1801 (census data) in Cumberland. 1841 Census has his address as Lowmill, occupation `Flax Dresser' He married Elizabeth Bowstead b. 1799/1801 Whitehaven Cumbria on 26.10.1829 in Cleator Cumberland. Her occupation on the Census forms is given as dressmaker There is information that she was christened on 6.10.1802 in St. Nicholas Whitehaven, her mother's name is also Elizabeth. This seems an awful lot of information, but I cannot find out anything about their parentage. Sometimes Bowstead is written as Boustead, but even this has not helped. Any leads would be very welcome. Thank you, Pauline
red mail Errington, Johnston, Barton, Plumpton Wall, Lazonby, Hesket in the Forest
I'm looking for more specific / accurate birth, death and marriage details for Sarah Errington and her groom, Thomas Johnston, married apparently in 1837 in Barton, and lived in the Plumpton Wall / Lazonby from the 1840s. Sarah was born in Hesket in the Forest around 1810, is buried around Plumpton (wall?) in the 1890s and Thomas born around 1804 was buried in the 1860s. I can't find anything accurately identifying each of their parents either. Its possible that Sarah's dad was a James Errington who possibly married a Dorothy Schollick (but I can't find anything on them). I'm descended from one of John and Sarah Johnston's children. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
