I am descended from William Simons, born approx. 1720 'of Borstall, Buckinghamshire', who married Sarah Knib in Launton in 1742. I'm not having much luck in tracking down a birth or baptism record for William... Could anyone help? Many thanks!

red mail Burgess & Cox families, Buckinghamshire
Hi everyone, I am currently trying to find out who my maternal great grandparents were, but I keep getting confused/stuck! My grandfather was William Burgess, born 1921 in Astwood, Buckinghamshire (I think). He moved to Bicester sometime before 1939, as the a census then shows him, his siblings and his mother Ethel (nee Cox) living in Bicester with her new husband, James Long, and their other children. There is some debate amongst my surviving older relatives as to whether or not William's parents were ever married - I haven't been able to find a marriage certificate for Ethel and anyone called Burgess, only her marriage to James Long, so personally I think they were unmarried. I cannot find a birth for Ethel, either, as I don't know any specific details about her. I can only find her on birth registrations for her children and censuses with her new husband, so I'm unsure of where to go from here. My mum believes that William's father was called Robert Burgess, although my aunt recalls the name as George - I have found a Robert George Burgess, so perhaps this could be the right one, but I'd love it if anyone could confirm before I start heading down the wrong path! Apparently Robert (?) died shortly after the family moved to Bicester. I tried to find a grave in the local cemetery but didn't have any luck. If anyone has any info regarding the Burgess or Cox families in Buckinghamshire or Bicester, please get in touch! Thanks.

red mail TRANTUM, COLEMAN, Buckinghamshire & Lancashire
Hannah TRANTUM (nee COLEMAN)was born c.1794 in Seer Green, Bucks and died in 1858 in Prescot, Lancs. She married Henry Trantum, a widower with a daughter Elizabeth, in Buckinghamshire in 1812. Her children were all born in Bucks/Middx areas and by 1839 the family was in Prescot, where Henry, a Potter, died in 1839 aged 56. I should like to hear from anyone with connections to this family.

red mail French Family
Hi I am needing assistance, I am researching my ancesters with the surname French, I have gotten as far as my 9 x Great Grandfather William French born 20th May 1649 in Thornborough, Buckinghamshire and died 23rd June 1710 in Thornborough, Bucks, the only link to parents I have managed to find for him are a Charles French, born 1612 in Thornborough and died in Thornborough in 1673, who married Anne Agnes Carter 1614-1666, Charles Parents I have as a Thomas French 1562-1613 and Anne Agnes Olmstead 1566-1624 who were both born and died in Essex, going further back it appears that Thomas French and Anne Agnes Olmstead descended from Medieval Aristocracy, however my family in recent times are working class so it makes me doubt this link. I hope someone can help me to find out if this is correct or if i have the wrong family recorded. Thank you in advance for your help

red mail Jane Illing Circa 1855-1921
I am hoping someone can help me solve a mystery surrounding my 3x Great Grandmother Jane Illing who was born in Buckinghamshire, either Winslow or Nash either in or around 1854/55. I am unable to locate any birth record for her on ancestry. Her parents were George Illing (1811-1872) and Rachel Illing nee Ridgeway (1829-1893) The 1861 Census has her living in Nash with her parents and shows she was born in Nash also, however i have located a baptism i believe to be her from 25th March 1855 in Winslow. She married William French (1842-1920) in Winslow on 12th January 1874. If i search for births of Jane Illing around 1855/54 in Buckinghamshire there are none? I also requested a birth certificate from GRO without the entry details (page and volume) and they searched 1855-1859 and found nothing? She shows on all Census returns and on her marriage record as Jane. I'm a little puzzled. Could there be any reason her parents did not register her birth?
