Arthur Press
Looking for information about Arthur Press and descendants. He came from Down in Ireland and married Elizabeth Sleeth in 1894. Both their sons died in infancy but their daughter Mary Ellen Press married John McCumiskey in 1915 and they had daughters Elizabeth and Mary. Arthur and Elizabeth also had a daughter Rose Ann (b 1903). Arthur himself left his family in Workington and headed for Lanarkshire where he had two brothers. He died in hospital in Coatbridge in 1929, with his usual residence being the Lamont Model Lodging House (a type of work house). He used the alias of Edward Morgan, possible the name of his maternal grandfather.
