Julia Ann Cawdell
My grandmother, ( above ) was born in East Wisbech on Dec. 1st. 1862, I believe her Father had a business supplying ship supplies,......she came to live in Hessle near Hull, East Yorkshire, when she was about 19-22 yrs. of age, she met my Grandfather when she worked as a governess in Hessle, They married June 12th. 1886. at All Saints Church Hessle, My Grandfathers name was John Stephen Bellard a widower, They had 17 or 18 children, a few of them died very young, but Lily I believe her eldest daughter lived to be about 2 wks. short of 100 ! any info appreciated, Ken.

red mail EDIS, Elsie
Does anyone have any information on Elsie Zora EDIS, born about 1870. Her father was Lowe Edis, but her mother was possibly not his wife, Missoria. She went to the USA in about 1890. She does not seem to appear in any census, or on the BDM site, though she may be on the Wisbech parish records. Mary.

Hastings in Wisbech St.Peters.
Trying to find a link with any Hastings in Wisbech circa 1610,particularly a Barnard Hastings who married in St.Clements,Cambridge in 1635 and a John who began a family in Great Eversden around 1598. Has anyone found a Barnard b. abt..1615 or a John b.abt 1578 who may have been the brother of a Richard b.abt 1580? Richard had a number of children in Wisbech, one of whom,Henry, may have been a butcher b.abt 1612 and who died 17 July 1657 All in Wisbech.. Any connection between the Barnard family and the Hastings family would be appreciated. Marian.
