hi. i am looking for a james wiseman who married a mary (i think higgins) both were irish. they were living in whitehaven and attended st. james. scotch presbyterian church. they had about 10 children. one was my gggrandfather..called joseph who got married in manchester 1845. he was born 1806/7. on trying to find my past...i have come across david wiseman (a son of james) who calls his son lundy wisman. i have just found a lady in australia...talking about a sherman wiseman who she says is still alive. can anyone help me please in finding anything out about these wisemans from whitehaven. thank you.

any information on the rogan family living in the area would be most welcome! Charles 1913-1991 coal hewer married ruth benson 1935. I am struggling to find parents of charles as there appears to be a large influx possibly Irish? to the area. The postal address i have for charles does not appear on the 1901 census so i am assuming that the house was not built then although there are 2 or 3 large Rogan families around whitehaven I have found a William 1910-1972 could be a brother?

Hi everyone, Does anyone know where I might get info on a birth in whitehaven in 1811. The family were RCs so should I be approaching St Beghs? Also I am struggling to locate a Charles Rogan any further back than the 1851 census.He was born in Whitehaven and was 40 in 1851 from a coal mining family. Suggestions of where to look would be greatly appreciated!
