Would appreciate any information regarding Jane Selby and James Bell who married in Whitehaven in 1850. They had 2 daughters, Elizabeth and Mary Jane. At one time the family lived in Queen Street (Whitelock Court?) but Jane, after being widowed, lived at 41 Duke Street. She is listed in the census as being a victualler. Commander James Bell died at sea and was buried on Antigua.Thank you in anticipation.

Looking for info on Arthur W McAdam, coalminer, born Ireland in about 1811. 1851 census shows him living in Middle Row, Preston Quarter Whitehaven with children, James, Michael, Rosannah, Ann (my husband's gt x 2 grandmother) and Arthur. His wife was Mary, nee Hind who was born in Whitehaven between 1811 and 1816 (from 1841 census) but had died by the time of the 1851 census.
