red mail Mary Ann Goose Emigrated 1852
Am trying to connect Mary Ann to my Goose family who centred round this area of Wisbech in the mid 1800's - and some still do. Mary Ann, born 1821, Wisbech, married Uriah Speechley 25 May 1842 at West Walton. Her father was Cornelius Goose baptised at Beccles, 9 August 1797. His father, Abel, was born East Dereham in the late 1770's. Mary Ann and Uriah went to Australia in 1852 on the "Beejapore" with four children. They had another five children in Australia. I am in touch with descendants still living at Botany Bay. Mary Ann died 12 October 1909 in a suburb of Sydney. Does anyone have any information on Mary Ann before she emigrated? The 1851 census shows the family, with Uriah's mother Susana, living at Park Lane, Tydd St. Mary.
