red mail Gillis Family
I am looking for information regarding my great grandmother, Sarah F. Gillis (born 4 Apr 1879). I have located, not one but two Sarah Gillis' living in West Derby, Lancashire in the 1881 British census. The first Sarah has her father listed as Samuel Gillis and the second Sarah has her father listed as James Gillis. Both of the fathers are listed as Irish. Sarah immigrated to Canada and married Frederick Law of Littlebury, Essex, England. I would love to hear from anyone that may have information regarding this family. Thank you.
Am interested in finding descendants of George Edward Ashdown & Jane Cookson who resided in West Derby late 1800's.. George was a Mineral Water Bottler. Their children were: Sarah Jane, George, Samuel Herbert, Annie, Emily & Henry (twins) Rosie Cookson. Emily died 1898 & the mother died 1900 whereby the father remarried in 1902 - I believe Albert Victor W. Ashdown was born in 1903 to that union. George, Samuel Herbert & Annie were put into the Barnardo Care after the mother's death & emigrated between 1903-05... I have nothing further on the other children. I have data on Annie Ashdown if there are any relatives that are interested in contacting her descendants...
