Thomas Nicholls
I am looking for information about a Thomas Nicholls, born in Walthamstow on 18th January 1898. According to an article in the local paper on the occasion of his 100th birthday, he drove trains on the Piccadilly Line, had served in WWI and had been a keen footballer. My friend was struck by the likeness of this man to her grandfather, William George Harold Nicholls, who was born in Tottenham in 1871, and wondered if there was any connection between Thomas Nicholls and William Nicholls. William Nicholls was born at 3 Chestnut Terrace, Chestnut Road, Tottenham. He married Elizabeth Tree Gribble in 1903 at St Matthew's, Ponders End. If you have any inforamtion about Thomas Nicholls, we would be pleased to hear it. Thank you.

Does anyone have a photo of the shop? This side of the street has been extensively altered in more modern times.

Many were in the building trade, others were bakers, but there were other occupations. I would be glad to hear if you can shed any light on this family. Thank you.
