My grandfather ARCHIBALD ABERCROMBIE was born in 1896. He married in 1919 when he was 23 years old. His Bride was JEANIE HETHERINGTON-STEVENSON (Apparently). ARCHIBALD was known by family and friends as 'Old China' due to the ceramic eye he chose to use after losing his own eye when he was younger. He passed away in 1953 and was followed by Jeanie two years later. During my research i have managed to find, document and authenticate Great aunts, GGGrandparents, fourth cousins, fourth cousins twice removed etc, up to eight generations along both paternal lines of the family. The tree could look pretty impressive if it was'nt for the two great swathes of empty boxes which appeared along with both my grandmothers. Both of my grans had double barrell surnames. I have already mentioned Jeanie. The other was MARY FISHWICK-TURNER from Lancashire. She married ALEXANDER PATERSON SHERRY at St Judes Church in Preston in 1929. His football career was cut short due to injury so he brought his bride back to Banknock. I do'nt expect anyone to know anything about MARY SHERRY, but, i am hoping that somebody might remember a snippet about JEANIE. Thankyou.
