LAWLESS of Tredegar
I an trying to find birth/family details of Susan Lawless from Tredegar. She was born around 1871 in Tredegar and had 9 children with my ancestor, William Blease. The only information that I can find regarding her birth place is on the census records and her death details. In 1891 she was living in Warrington with William and three children, Sydney, Beatrice and Louisa. The family name on the census was Lawless. I can find no evidence that Susan and William were married. On the 1901 census, the family name is Blease, with one additional child, Ernest. On the 1911 census she is a Blease again (census transcript error shows as Bleare) with two more children, Queenie and May. As I cannot find anything about her birth or early life, I am suspicious that Tredegar was her birthplace. As far as I know, the Blease family had no links with South Wales. Another suspicious fact is that Lawless was the maiden name of William's mother. Her death registration index shows her as Susan Blease-Lawless, died 1914. The baptism/birth details of the children show sometimes as Blease, sometimes Blease- Lawless and sometimes Lawless-Blease.

Mary Jones B. c1844 Tredegar
My G.G. grandmother was called Mary Jones B circa 1844 in Tredegar, S. Wales. She married John Davies, B. circa 1844 in Manchester. He was a Bill Poster. My problem is that in the 1851 census there were 3 Mary Jones, all born circa 1844 in Tredegar. 1. Mary Jones D/O Thomas & Rachel Jones, 40 Church St. Tredegar. 2. Mary Jones D/O Thomas & Elizabeth Jones,67 Spout Row,Tredegar 3. Mary Jones D/O Ebenezer & Mary Jones, 54 Spout Row, Tredegar. I don't know which one married John Davies from Manchester. They travelled the country together with John's work, their children being born in several different towns. They eventually settled in Doncaster, Yorkshire, where my mother was born. I should be grateful if anyone knows any Jones family from Tredegar, or any descendants of these 3 Mary Jones.

Thomas Vivian b. Jul 1859; Henry Isaac Brown
I am attempting to find information on Thomas Vivian who was the first husband of my great aunt, Amelia Brown. Although she was born in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, her family lived in Tredegar before leaving for America in 1882. He died in Nanticoke, Luzerne, Pennsylvania in late May/early June (buried 02 June) 1902 of miner's asthma. He may have also later married Eliza ___. Some records note he was the son of James and Philipa __ Vivian and that he may have been born in St. Austell, Cornwall. That is only a possibility since I have no verified information about him other than word of mouth from his great granddaughter, who is my first cousin, once removed. Henry Isaac Brown, my great-grandfather, was the father of Amelia, Elizabeth, Louisa, Mary Ann, George Henry, William James, and Gilbert Abraham (born in either Midsomer Norton or Tredegar), plus my grandmother, Melinda, the only one born in the U.S. He was a blacksmith. Any information on him would be greatly appreciated also.

red mail Moore
I am searching for any links with Sarah Moore, her parents or siblings. Sarah Moore was born around 1875 in Tredegar - father was Charles Moore and mother was Elizabeth. She had an older sister Mary Elizabeth and a younger brother Abraham born in 1880, who served with the "38th Welsh Division" in World War 1. Sarah married Thomas Amor in May 1901 in Pontypridd, South Wales. They had 4 children, James Charles 1902, William Thomas 1909, Albert George 1914 and Beatrice 1905. Albert George died at just a few months old. Sarah died in June 1930. Our connection to her is through James Charles Amor and we would love to hear from anyone with any information relating to Sarah, her parents Charles and Elizabeth, or her daughter Beatrice who married a Thomas Frost. Many thanks.

My 3x great grandfather Charles Vivian was employed by the Tredegar Iron Company in 1830 as Agent. His sister Elizabeth Vivian married Jonathon Miles in 1818 and he was also employed at the Iron Works as a Patternmaker. In 1841 Elizabeth and Jonathon were living at Iron Street along with thier two children Mary and Charles and Elizabeth`s sister Mary Vivian, who had independent means. Their brother John Vivian died at Tredegar in 1838 of an accident. He was a Bundlers (Accountant) probably at The Iron Works.
