On 20th October 1803, Thomas Ambrose (1775-1850) married Martha Hudson (1782-1843) in Stow Bardolph. Their children were (all born Stow) Samuel, abt 1804; Alice, abt 1805; John, abt 1808; Thomas, abt 1810; William, abt 1813; Alice, abt 1816; Jane, abt 1818; Robert, abt 1821 and Mary, abt 1825.Son, Thomas, born abt 1810, married Sarah Stewardon 20th December 1833 at Stow. Children of Thomas and Sarah were Samuel, abt 1834; Elizabeth, abt 1835; William, abt 1836; Mary Ann, abt 1838; Frances (Fanny), abt 1840; Martha Catherine, abt 1842; Jane, abt 1845; Robert, abt 1849; Catherine, abt 1851; and Thomas Steward, abt 1857. Some of the surnames connected with the marriages of Thomas and Sarah Ambrose`s children are Chilvers; Broderick; Barton; Woodward; Stimson; Godfrey; Wastie and Atkinson. Looking for info on my family. Ethel King born1899 Stow Bardolph Norfolk. Her parents were Alfred (c1870)and Hannah c(1873). Her grandmother was Henrietta nee Groom (c1830) who married William King (c1819) from Wimblington, Cambs in June 1854. The family lived at Barroway Drove. Ethel married William George Smith, who was reportedly a travellar who had lost a leg but we are unable to trace him.

Benjamin Norton was baptised in Holy Trinity - Stow Bardolph November 2 1755. His parents were John and Elizabeth. However his home was Bawburgh Hall, Bawburgh near Norwich. Why was Benjamin baptised in Stow when his family had lived in Bawburgh since the 1680s. Any information on the Nortons of Stow would be greatfully received.
