Humphries, Humphreys, OR Humphrey?
Elizabeth Sophia Humphries shown in 1851 Brighton census as E A Humphrey age 14 yrs at a girls' school 'Belvedere' in Montpelier Road, Brighton, shown as born Southampton but this should be Lambeth. Father's name John Terry HUMPHRIES.This school was run by a Margaret C Wallace and her sister Caroline with their neice Rose age 10 shown as a pupil. (Their name shown in census as 'Wallane ! and Montpelier as 'Montpellier) Elizabeth married George Gray, June qr 1872 at Southampton. Grace married Thomas Brown 17/4/1853 also at Southampton. It is Elizabeth we are particularly interested in. She might be in Andover in 1861, Hartley Wintney in 1871, and thereafter as Elizabeth Gray in Southampton where she possibly died in 1908 although I have been told this was not her. Information sought on any of the above. Thank you.

Harriet Brown married Charles Wells about 1853, Southampton. I am only looking for the birth of Harriet Brown, about 1823. The census below, states born in SOUTH STONEHAM Her father, we know was George Brown. Mother Harriet. There is a George Brown with wife Harriet on the 1841/51.61 census. Married North Stoneham 1817 I am on Ancestry and it normally gives me all I want. But no birth of a Harriet Brown in South Stoneham. I would need her mothers maiden name. Believe it could be Roberts or Smith ??? Has any-one this lady as an ancestor Carpl woods
