Looking for the descendants of two brothers, William MEAD, born at Staithes in 1847, and Francis MEAD, born at Staithes in 1857, the sons of Francis MEAD and Mary nee PINDER. William MEAD married Elizabeth DEAN at Hull in 1870 and they had at least three children: Ernest William (b1873), Walter Charles (b1874) and Florence Emily (b1878). Francis Mead married Gertrude BROCKLEHURST at Sculcoates in 1876 and they too had three children: Francis Piercey (b1876), Cecil James (b1878) and Gertrude Eleanor (b1880). According to the 1881 census both brothers were drapers and shopkeepers, though whether they were in business together or separately is uncertain. Francis's address is given as 13 Pearson St, Kingston upon Hull, while William and his wife were recorded on census night at a hotel in London. William's sons Ernest and Walter were almost certainly involved in their father's business as in the 1901 census both are still living in Sculcoates and their occupation is given as draper's assistant. Does anyone recognise any of these people, please?
