I have traced all descendants of my Holderness BRANTON family of eighteen except for twins John and Jean REEVES born 1946 in Salford to Harold and Gladys ( nee Peggy BRANTON/CLUBLEY) younger siblings of Doreen. Would complete my Branton Family Book and enable me to send an invitation to the second Annual Reunion! What a way to celebrate your 70ths! Ann

red mail William Higley & Phoebe Cannon
Hi, I would love to hear from anyone who would be prepared to share any information that you might have on the Higley line in Salford. William is the Father of Adam Higley born Salford 1796 and William married a Phoebe Cannon. I believe William may have been a Tea Merchent. Adam had two marriages and ended up in Bethnal Green. I am most interested at going back the way with William but am struggling to find dates for him. Thank you

red mail Smithson Family
My great grandfather James Murray Smithson was born c 1835 in Edinburgh but by 1851 was in Manchester, a cabinet maker by trade, son of William. He was married four times in all, Sarah Mackintosh, Hannah Whittle, Mary Ann Holland formerly Philips and lastly to Primrose Rodgers. At the time of his death in 1882 he was living with Primrose in Darley Street. His son Edward Murray Smithson by Mary was born in 1876 in Bombay Street and was my grandfather. His son was also called Edward Murray Smithson born in 1905 in Coronation Street, Salford and was my father. I cannot find any details of the early life of James Murray, perhaps there is someone researching this family too as James is proving to be very elusive!
