Sell
A certain James SELL (a yarnmaker) can be traced to Saffron Walden in the mid-18th century. He died in 1800. Letitia (or Lettice) Sell (his sister) is my direct ancestor. She names him in her will, and James's own will confirms other family connections (including the names HALLOWS and BLACKMAN), so I am pretty sure I have the correct people. My (incomplete) notes mention the names John Sell and his wife Mary BARBER as the parents of James and Letitia. Can anyone confirm who James and Letitia's parents were?

red mail William Felstead Lord & Anna Matilda Francis
I have traced William Felstead Lord back to Saffron -Walden. He married Anna Matilda Francis in London april 1 1839. Her father was Thomas James Francis. I you have any information about either the Lords or the Francises I would like to hear from you. Her family was supposed to be wealthy. Heirs to something called the Ferguson Estate? She had a brother named James Francis? I am just trying to verify the old family legend about the rich girl that married the poor man and was disinherited?

red mail Goddard and Phillips
I am looking for family who lived in Saffron Walden. John Felix Goddard who was a cinematographer and also an electrician. He married Ethel Phillips in 1912 at Walthamstow, Essex. They had one known child, a daughter, Ethel Joyce Goddard who I believe was known as Joyce. She was born in 1914, Saffron Walden and baptised at St Mary's church. The would have still been there when Joyce was a young woman - about 20ish as we have a family photo of her and I believe she lived there. Joyce married Leonard A Rayment.
