red mail LIZZIE MARTIN born in TUNBRIDGE WELLS area in 1866
Lizzie Martin was my husband's great grandmother. Her father's name was Charles Martin but I cannot find his marriage to Lizzie's mother. I need to know her maiden name. Is anybody researching the surnames MARTIN, HEWITT and COLEBROOKE in the Tunbridge Wells area?
red mail Stidolph family
I am seeking information on the Stidolph family. Mary Ann Stidolph married a William Battman and had several children including Mary Battman, born 19/05/1824 and Eliza Battman, born 23/05/1828. On the 1851 Census, Mary Ann Battman is a widow, aged 60, and a schoolmistress. Any information gratefully received.
red mail Bocci, Downard,Hill.
I am seeking information about my great-great-great-grandfather, Frederick Antonius Bocci, born 1798 or 1799, possibly in Naples. He was a hairdresser, and married Elizabeth Downard in Tunbridge Wells in 1823. Their first child, Frederick Henry Bocci, was baptized at the church of King Charles the Martyr in 1824. (I believe this son may have changed his surname to Hill, sometime before 1854). Frederick Antonius Bocci was known as Frederick Antony Bocci by the time of his death in 1873. Any information on people connected to this family would be gratefully received, as I haven't yet traced Elizabeth Downard prior to her marriage. She died in 1881.
red mail Hewlitt, Mercer
I am looking for information about the families of my great-grandparents. My g-grandfather, George Mercer, was a master tailor (with his own business) on the Pantiles. I think that he was born in 1845, in Frant. On 1851 census, there is a family called Mercer living in Frant Road. The father and also the oldest son, then aged 16, were described as tailors. There are several other children, with the youngest being a boy named George, 5 years old. The mother's name is Harriet. Can anybody confirm that this is the right family? My g-grandmother, Mary-Ann Hewlitt (known as Polly) was born in 1850, I think. Her father's name was Richard Hewlitt and he was a signalman at the time of her marriage to George Mercer at St. Stephen's Church in the Parish of Tonbridge, in 1870. My mother had thought that they were from Uckfield, and that Richard was a farmer but I haven't managed to find them there, nor in Tunbridge Wells, so far. Neither George's nor Mary-Ann's births appear to have been registered. Can anybody help me track them back from their marriage? Any further information regarding siblings, etc. would be most welcome.

red mail Family of Alfred & Annie C Roberts.
I'm trying to trace any familydescendants of Alfred & Annie C Roberts. The last known residence of Annie just before her death in 1927was 5 Granville Road, Tunbridge. Her husband Alfred was a Domestic Coachman by trade. I believe they had a son, also named Alfred. If anyone recognises a connection or knows of any link/information on this family, I would be very grateful if they could contact me please. Thank you. Barbara.
Jane Creasy gave birth to a daughter Ellen Elizabeth in April 1868 at North Street Tunbridge Wells, no father is mentioned on the Birth Certificate. Jane's father was a neighbour of James Smith and his Family and it seems they eventually adopted Ellen. I wonder what became of Jane. Ellen is known as Ellen Mercer in 1881 then Ellen Smith, before she married a Dray.
