Entries around
red mail Donald McLean
My 4G Grandfather may have been born in Rosemarkie around 1811. He was a soldier in the 92nd Regiment of Foot, Gordon Highlanders. He died in 1846 in Enneskillen, Ireland. He was engaged, but not yet married to My 4G Grandmother, Ann Fordyce and they had one son Alexander. His military record says he had a brother, Duncan, who lived in Leith at the time Donald died. Would love to find his birth record!

red mail Mackinnon, McKinnon Fortrose, Rosemarkie
I am looking for information about George Gordon Mackinnon, Contractor for Mails, Ross-shire and Inverness. he would have been born about 1817 in or about Fortrose, Black Isle. He had a son, John Gordon Mackinnon, who after a military career, became the first National Secretary of the Master Bakers Association.
