I have traced back directly to my 4xgt grandfather (Edward Walder, b Rogate 1801). Now searching for above connecting surnames in the Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey regions, mainly Rogate, Habin, Binsted, Bepton, Harting, Midhurst, Froyle & Croydon areas. Any info would be most appreciated.

Looking for relatives of Edward Walder baptised 1801. Married Ann Pescot in 1821. Had 8 children : Henry, Charles, Sarah, Charlotte, Jane, Mary, Edward & Caroline. Sarah is my direct descendent via her son - Richard Knight Walder - my 2xgt grandfather (his father was Richard Knight whom she married after her son's birth). My 2xgt grandfather went on to marry Harriett Brider of Rogate and had 12 children - Charles Henry, James Richard, Anne, Edith, Arthur Edward, Alice, William, Harriett, George, Beatrice, Ethel and Frederick. Further info on any of the above would be most welcome.

Lewis Buckle of Rogate Lodge known to have had one daughter Frances born 1790 who married Rev. James Trippas his first wife. She died in childbed on 3 Sept 1820. Does anyone know more of this family ?

Anthony Abraham was born about 1732 in Iping and married Mary (surname unknown) about 1753. They had 10 children - John, Robert, Ann, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah, Susan, Anthony, Jane and William all born in Rogate between 1753 and 1772). Anthony was buried 10 September 1794 and Mary 20 May 1808 both in Rogate. Any information about this family gratefully received.

Richard Porter was bpt 3 March 1750 at Chithurst. He married Ann Abraham 26 February 1778 in Rogate. They had 6 children (Richard , Ann, George, William, Sarah and Elizabeth born between 1778 and 1793, all in Rogate.) Does anyone know where and when they died? Any information gratefully received.

Chase family including Elizabeth Chase (b1753 - married to John Mellersh b1747), Harriet Chase (1825-1904), John Chase (b1815), Mary Louisa Chase (1826-1893), Rebecca Chase (1749-), Mary Chase (1757-), and William Chase (1755-1814). The Chase family lived at Sandhills. Also included in the Mellersh family born in Rogate: Castle Mellersh (b1719), Elisabeth Mellersh (b1730), John Mellersh (1779-1823), John Mellersh (1721-1787), Sarah Mellersh (b1725), Mary Mellersh (1723-1776) and William Mellersh (1809-1826). Also Joane Eames (b1653). Also Caroline Collins (b1812) and Frances Collins (b1809). Williamson family in Rogate includes: Thomas Williamson (b1705), Thomas Williamson (b1674), William Williamson (1569-1634), Rebecca Williamson (b1716), Richard Williamson (1636-1707) and Richard Williamson (b1708) and Ephraim Williamson (1640-1641). My paternal grandfather, Albert Edwin Arnold, was born in West Street Rogate in 1879. He had a brother's named Frank Arthur Arnold, John Gilbert Arnold, George Zebulon Arnold & a sister named Annie Ruth Arnold. In 1895 my Grandfather became apprenticed to George Maxwell & Son in Selborne. Later he moved away to London. Does anyone have any further information about this Arnold family in and around Rogate, Sussex. If you do I would be very pleased to hear from you.

Has anyone traced John or Mercy Ricketts or Rickets in Rogate before 1727? After that date they had settled in Cocking but they seem to have come from Rogate.
