William Henry Farr and Amelia (perhaps Phillips) descendants near Pontypool
Am looking for information on William Farr (m) Catherine Williams or son William Farr (b. ┬▒1801) (m)Mary Edwards. The family has also been listed in various censuses in Pontypool and many of the other parishes in the Abergavenny area. Five daughters of William Henry Farr (b. 1859) (m) Amelia _____ (most likely her maiden name was PHILLIPS) supposedly all lived in the area. Two sisters lived in Abergavenny and had a shop in the early 1900s. First names of the five sisters were Amelia, Beatrice, Lilly, Gertrude, and Effie. I'm not sure which two had the shop. Any clues/info/help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

FARR - Children of William (b. about 1801) and Mary (Edwards b. about 1800)
I have found some information (census, etc.) on the children but hope somebody may have more information/photos of these children and their descendants. The following are the children of William and Mary. All were apparently born in Raglan. Birth dates could vary by a year. EDWARD JOHN FARR b.1830 (need when/where died and buried) ELIZABETH FARR b. 1831 (need marriage date/place, death date/place, burial date/place) GEORGE WILLIAM FARR b. 1833 (need ALL other information) JOHN MEYRICK FARR b. 1837 (need ALL other information) THOMAS FARR b. 1838 (need ALL other information) MARY SOPHIA FARR b. 1840 (need marriage date/place, death date/place, burial date/place) ANN/ANNE/ANNIE FARR b.1842 (need marriage date/place (believe she was never married), death date/place, burial date/place) JANE FARR b. 1844 (need marriage date/place, death date/place, burial date/place) HARRIET FARR b. 1845 (need marriage date/place, death date/place, burial date/place) CATHERINE FARR b. 1845 (need marriage date/place, death date/place, burial date/place) Harriet and Catherine are most likely twins since they are listed in the BMD records for the same quarter of the year 1845. Also, if you know of siblings of William Farr (b. about 1801) as well as his parents, I'd love to hear from you, too. His parents were William (b. about 1777) and Catherine _____ (b. about 1777) but I have no other information on them whatsoever. I realize that some of the above-requested info is on the Free BMD listing. However, I'm also hoping somebody may have specific dates instead of just the quarter of the year (Jan, Feb, or Mar for Q1). Thank you in advance for any information, photos, hints, or educated guesses you'd like to share. I'm a direct descendant of Edward John Farr (who married Elizabeth Jane Evans in Pontypool on 09 September 1852).

William Farr
Was listed in 1835 and 1942 Pigotts as proprietor of the Crown Inn in Raglan. Later was proprietor of the Full Moon on George Street in Pontypool. Was baptised in Raglan in 1801/1802 and was the son of William and Catherine (?maiden name?) Farr. I recently received a photo of him saying "of Beaufort House Farm" and am hoping somebody in Raglan (historical society?) may have further information to share.

red mail Louisa Jones Raglan
louise jones My great grandmother according to the 1891.1901.1911 census was born in Raglan, but the problem i have is her date of birth differs on each census , so not really sure of her date of birth. I believe she married a John Miles and i have found a record to suggest they did not marry till 1936 in Abergavenny, her age on the certificate was 59, possible 60 that year, making her dob 1876. They had a child i believe Leonard, my grandfather. On the 1911 census he is stated as Leonard Miles, but always use the name Anstey on throughout his life. Ellen louisa was with a Thomas Anstey till he died in 1897, Leonard was born in 1902, there are other anstey children. The problem i have is that i cannot find a record for Leonards birth, under Miles,Anstey or her maiden name which was Jones. On the marriage certificate it states her father name was William a Farmer. Leonards school records suggest is name is Miles otherwise anstey and his marriage certificate does is well. Can anyone throw any light on this?

red mail Louisa Jones Raglan
A bit of an update . On three census Louisa Jones Born in Raglan, put three entries of her DOB 1881 census. 1862,1901 census 1865. 1911 1870. Louisa had 7 children two died four children surnames were Anstey and on my grandad Leonard Miles born in Abergavenny 1902, but I cant find a Birth certificate for Leonard. I have found the other childrens on the five her name was down as Louisa Jones and one she stated Mary Louisa Jones. Her only living Daughter name was Alice Ellen Louisa . Throughout Leonard live his school and marriage certificate states he was Leonard Miles otherwise known as Anstey . Looking at the birth certificate Louisa DOB I thing is probably right on the 1891 census as 1862. John Miles My GGGrandfather was a lot younger that Louisa. I cannot find a marriage certificate either for the two men in her life Thomas Anstey and John Miles !!
