red mail Manthorpe/Roberts
My ancestor Elizabeth Manthorpe, born 1812 in Herringfleet, married Peter Roberts in 1838 in Mutford. She also later married John Moore, in Hempnall, Norfolk in 1865. According to a family tree that I have come across she moved to Northumberland to live with her son after second husband died in 1889. I have no knowledge of any children from either marriage, and would have to assume child came from first marriage as she would have been 53 at time of second marriage. Can anyone help with details of any children of Elizabeth Manthorpe/Roberts/Moore
red mail Archibald Wesley Mobbs married Blanche Mary Manthorpe
My ancestor Blanche Manthorpe, born 1882 in Norfolk, married Archibald Wesley Mobbs, born circa 1878, in Mutford in 1902. Does anyone know of any children they may have produced during their marriage, any help appreciated.
red mail Hannah Amelia Snowling
Need some help tracing parents of this lady, she was born in 1870 in Mutford, Suffolk to Mary Ann Snowling. Hoping the 1871 census can give me a clue to her fathers name, can anyone help.
red mail James Manthorpe married Elizabeth Lilly
I have a James Manthorpe, born 1834 in Suffolk, who married Elizabeth Lilly in 1863 in Flegg Norfolk. Think I have found them in 1871 census in Mutford, hoping someone can verify this and discover any children further along.
red mail Marjoram
I am interested in James Marjoram (b.1783) (m. Elizabeth Roberson in 1808 in Rushmere) and descendants. James and Elizabeth lived and then both died in Mutford
red mail Howlett
My Great Grandmother was Naomi Gertrude Howlett. Naomi was born in 1896. She married a William Charles Bowkett and they lived in Mutford. I believe they did not live together for a long time. I am having trouble finding out anything about her family. If anyone has any information about the Howlett's or Bowkett's, I would really appreciated it.
red mail TURRELL - update!
thanks to everyone who helped - I have now found my elusive gamekeeper Arthur and his wife Elizabeth. My original mistake came from two Lily Turrells on the census with the same birth date, and I found the wrong one! happy family researching, Lou
red mail TURRELL
hello. I am trying to trace my ancestor who was a gamekeeper in Mutford Wood circa 1912/13. I do not have his christian name. He was married to Georgeanna (maiden name not known but born circa 1859) and they had several children. Although Georgeanna and the children appear on the 1901, 1891 and 1881 census listings, Mr Turrell does not! The census listings are all Great Yarmouth. I have now unfortunately drawn a blank as without his christian name I cannot trace him! And without Georgeanna's maiden name I cannot progress with her. Any help gratefully received. Am happy to share info............many thanks, Lou, great great grandaughter of the elusive gamekeeper!
red mail Howlett
Hi I am looking for information on the Howlett's. I know my wife's grandfather Ernest Charles Howlett was born in Mutford but very little else. He was born about 1895. I would be thankful for any information on his parents and grandparents
red mail Laing
Looking for information on my great grandfather Harry George Laing, who we though hailed from Scotland. The only two entries I found on an ancestry website was of: Harry George Laing born in 1876 in Mutford and Harry George Laing born in 1885 in Yarmouth. I was wondering if anybody knows if either of these two Harry George Laings immigrated to South Africa in the early 1900's, possibly with his brother? I do know that my great grandfather fought in WW1, he apparently returned to the UK and did his service for his country before returning to SA, where he was a policeman. My grandfather John Henry Laing was born in October 1915 and he had two sisters Maud Susan and Levi. Can anybody help, so that I know a little more about my family history?
