red mail Elizabeth Anna OATES bc1804
I'm searching for the baptism of Elizabeth Anna OATES who, according to Census returns, was born in Margate c1804. I can't find it on IGI. She married Edward SMEED at St Mary the Virgin, Dover on 18/08/1835. It was a second marriage for Edward. These were my ggg grandparents. Any help in tracing Elizabeth's family will be much appreciated. Thanks

red mail Prospect Hotel, 29 Zion Place, Cliftonville, Kent
Hi, does anyone remember the owners of the Prospect Hotel in Cliftonville, Margate before it was demolished? I believe they would have been a Mr. Thomas SWALLOW and his wife Frances BAILEY. The hotel was apparently demolished in the 1960s when the area was renovated, but I'd be interested in tracing any surviving relatives of the owners (back in the 1940s-50s) as I have a letter from an 'Auntie Frances' to my grandmother inviting her to stay at the hotel, and I am curious to know what kind of relation she was to her. Thank you.

red mail Metropolitan Infirmary for Children
I would be very interested to discover more about the Metropolitan Infirmary for Children in Northumberland Road, Margate, founded c.1841, which was owned until the 1880s by a relative of my family, John Weekley, and after his death in 1888, by his brother-in-law Edwin Lovett. I am particularly interested to learn about its foundation and early history -- how and when did John and his first wife Sarah, who married in 1840, come to Margate? Were they involved in the Infirmary from the beginning? In the 1851 census, John states he is the "contractor", while from 1861 to 1881, he is shown as the proprietor.

red mail Edith Eliza Emily Price
I am trying to find more information about Edith Price born 1883 in Margate. She was listed as a school teacher on the 1901 census. She was the daughter of Edmund and Annie Price. In 1901 she lived at Cemetery Lodge and her father was Superintendent of the church cemetery. In 1910 she had an illegitimate son, William Leslie Price, who was adopted by the Kemp family. At that time she lived in Black Cottage, Woodchurch, Acol. I cannot find out what happened to her after that time.
