red mail Rouse family - railway connection Malton 1800's
My ancestors were a Joseph Rouse who was a railway contractor - I believe he died in 1852 in some kind of tragic accident in Malton - he was a railway contractor. His widow Selina Rogers then wed a Thomas Stabler Bellwood - Joseph's daughter Clara Mary Rouse who was born about 1850 in Ballinhassig in Ireland ( think he was over there doing the railway) - Clara married John Herbert Wilson who died at age 29 of small pox in Norwich - she then married William Jackson in Malton - she then died in 1880 I know nothing about where joseph originally came from although at the time of their marriage he was a builder in Reading Berkshire but she was in poole, Dorset . Any help gratefully accepted

Elizabeth, born circa 1869, James, Mary and Anna Gladwell, born in 1876. Latter married William Pidd in 1901. They moved to Gateshead, Durham. Benjamin Gladwell's father was also called Benjamin, born circa 1816, and a "Blacksmith". In 1851 census son Benjamin is aged 7 and a pauper, and in 1861 a servant aged 17.
