red mail james slack/wildboarclough/sutton
I am trying to trace my gt grandfather's burial place. His name was James Slack, born around 1824 in Wildboarclough Macclesfield. . He was married to Margaret Kemp in 1854 at the Parish church Macclesfield. On his marriage cert it states that his father was also called James, and they lived at Wildboarclough Macclesfield., although on the 1861 James jnr (b 1824) is living at 42 Dirty Lane Sutton Macclesfield.I have searched all the records and think that his father who I would say was born around 1790 might also have another name as well as James Slack - perhaps William or Thomas. Can anyone help solve the mystery?
red mail Dawson Family of Macclesfield Forest
I am researching the Dawson family of Macclesfield Forest. My earliest known ancestor is Edward Dawson who married Elizabeth Braddock on 2 Nov 1746 at Prestbury (Sutton). Their children were Mary (m. Thomas Clowes), William (m. Jane Hulme), Edward, James (m. Mary Heald), Elisabeth, John (m. Mary), Matthew (m. Nancy Lomas), Jane (m. James Sutton) and Joseph (m. Martha Dawson). I am descended from James who had only one child, also named James. I am keen to share information about this Dawson family with other descendants. The family lived on a farm named 'Greenways' at Macclesfield Forest.
