Entries around
red mail Livett, Blackheath, 1930
I am looking for clues as to the identity of my husband's grandfather. His grandmother, Lily Emma Livett, lived at 24 Wemyss Road, Blackheath, with her parents William Henry and Emma, she worked as a domestic servant, including for the Collards in Glenluce Road. Lily's daughter Mary Eileen Livett was born in 1930 in Lewisham Hospital (Workhouse Infirmary). She must have lived with Lily to begin with, but was fostered or adopted by Mr and Mrs Page, of The Bungalow, Diamond Terrace, Blackheath before 1939, when Lily was admitted to Bexley Hospital. It is possible that Mary's father was Mr Alan Courtney Coad, their next door neighbour from 1927 to 1930, but not sure. If anybody could tell me anything about Lily, Mr Coad, the Livetts or Mrs Page, who adopted other children as well, I'd be so grateful, this has been an 18 month brick wall so far. Ta.

William Charles Lake abandoned his wife Edith SMITH and two children Harold and Egbert, in the Lewisham/Brockley/Catford, area around 1900. He returns to his father Evan, a solicitor based in Gravesend, Kent in 1913, bringing his son Gordon and new wife Kitty from Canada, then disappears again in 1915 after making his Will in favour of his son Gordon.
