Christopher Bonner born July 1817 in Hull area, apprenticed at sea 1831.Father reportedly also Christopher Bonner, Family folklore says the family were of Norwegian descent,( having to change their name TO Bonner for some reason) landing in Scotland , circumstances meant they then lost their land and moved southward to become seamen. Chris (1817) married Susannah Elizabeth Box in Stepney London. Had 5 children. Would like any information please Thankyou, Lesley

Hello, I try to find some information about the grandmother of my husband Alice Jane Pyrah from Hull, Yorkshire. On her death certificate is the name of her mother Sarah Elizabeth Wilkinson. On the death certificate also is written the given names of her father: John William, so maybe John William Pyrah? Can you contact me if you have any information? I leave in Western Australia. I am searching for a Joseph Mcfadyen Born 1903, could be older( birth unknown possibly Scotland. )According to his marriage his Father was James McFadyen occ. Joiner. He was married to Edith Gertrude Brewer in 1926 in Hull East Yorkshire Do not know of any siblings or any other family. He was a member of the Salvation Army and was in one of the bands. He died in 1941 age on death cert was 38yrs old

Desperately seeking the origins of Ralph Brodie (1786-1849). He marries Elizabeth Martin on 27th May 1816 in Holy Trinity Hull and he deliberately died before the 1851 census so he didn't have to give his place of birth. He was an excise man but was a naughty boy and was dismissed from the service - twice! Unfortunately their records were burnt so can't get any details that way. Anyone got a hammer for this particular brick wall? Jenny

I would like to hear from anyone in the hull area that may be connected to George Frost Price b1874. His mother's maiden name was Frost (Sarah Hannah)and his father Benjamin Price. The Price family were large and living in Hull and Skirlaugh (area). Any connection no matter how small would be helpful as I have come to a full stop. Thanks Pam

Trying to trace Stratten family who lived in Hull area. Robert Stratten, born 1829, was son of Thomas Stratten, born in 1793, and Minister of Fish Street Congregational Chapel. He married Mary Sheveller in 1821 in Portsea. Robert married Elizabeth (Linton or Wilkinson ?) in 1855. He died in 1904. Their children were Mary Gertrude, born 1858, Frances, 1859,Edith in 1862, Thomas in 1863 and Lucy Agnes in 1865, who became an artist. Thomas Stratten, 1863, emigrated to South Africa and married Eleanor Gertrude Price in 1897. Strattens can be found in 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881 (see Phatton !), 1891 and 1901 Censuses.

red mail George Rowntree 1851 Hull gaol why?
George Rowntree born 1808/11 in Hull. 1841 census he's a stonemason, in 1851 is in Hull gaol as prisoner, occ journeyman stonemason. By 1861 he's in Beverley gaol with just one other prisoner. I think he died in 1866 in Hull. Anyone know of why he was in prison or how to access prison records? Thanks Christine
