red mail Beharrell Jackson Sowerby
I now know that by 1851 Martha Beharrell (now 25) had married John Jackson, who was then 35 and a shoemaker near Sykes Street, Hull. By 1861 he is shown as John Sowerby Jackson, with Martha, at 10 Rutland Terr., and they have 4 children of their own, and Charlotte, daughter of Martha, living there.

red mail PENN family
George Penn lived in Holland Street, Hull until he and his family emigrated to Vancouver, Canada 1912-1914. One of the sons, Ernest, wrote often to my mother (then Miss Jones and later Mrs. Staveley) and I have pictures of him and family there. Ernest married in Canada in 1923 but his wife died in 1950. Does anyone have information about this family please ?

red mail COPELAND / COUPLAND
The Copeland family lived in Holland Street, Hull at the end of the 19th century. A young man from the family, if not the whole family, is found in Vancouver, Canada, at some time 1913-1916, and I have a photograph. It's a slim chance, but has anyone any links to these facts please ?

red mail BOWERS William in Hull circa 1880
I am trying to locate more details on my 2xgr grandfather William BOWERS. The only definite info I have is that he was the licensed victualler of the George & Dragon pub @ 101 High Street Hull in Dec 1880 when my gr grandma Betsy CAPES (nee BOWERS) was born. He died 29/03/1881 aged 54 i.e. a few days before the 1881 census so we have no idea where he was born (circa 1827). I have tried to follow all the Williams who were born around 1827 but unable to find the correct one who could be in Hull in 1880. On Betsy's birth certificate it gives the indication that he had married my 2xgr grandmother Elizabeth BOWERS late BRACKENBURG formerly SMITH. However have been unable to locate a marriage cert, even for BRACKENBURG He left a will but he leaves everything to his house keeper Elizabeth SMITH ! and there is no mention of his birth town, only Hull. My granddad is led to believe that William was stationed in Canada for some time as part of the British Army. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jo.
