Clara Thomlinson, born 1850, Hull,Yorkshire
Can anyone help me to find Clara Thomlinson, born in Hull, 1850, according to the 1871 census, where she was living as a boarder at the Chilvers' house, in Cottage Row, Holy Trinity parish, in Hull. Clara was listed as a dressmaker, single and not related to the Chilvers. I have been unable to find her, or her family in any other census record in Hull, or anywhere else and have not found a birth, marriage , or death record for her. There is a possibility that she was my 2x great grandmother, so I am keen to find out what happened to her. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Gillian.

Mason family - Hull
Is anyone researching a family or families called Mason who lived in Hull in the C19? I have been trying to, but after sending for three certificates, none of which turned out to be for the people I am interested in, I have drawn a blank. The certificates I have are: birth certificate for George Mason 28/04/1840 (father William, a tailor and mother Harriet, formerly Campion) marriage certificate from 1838 for John Mason and Jane Finningley (that John being a bookseller) and death certificate for Jane Mason 25/02/1864, widow of John Mason master mariner. The George I am looking for was born around 1838 and although his parents were John and Jane, they were greengrocers and Jane was born Shankster, from West Halton in Lincolnshire. Can anyone help? I'd be happy to send over scanned copies of the certificates mentioned above if it would help anyone else!

Wanted: photo of 320 Beverley Road, Hull. Also, can anyone tell me who lived there in (November) 1926? My mother married in Sculcoates and gave this address, although both she and her husband came from Liverpool. Perhaps it was a guest house or home of a relative - I would love to know.

I am looking for information about ROBERT ARTHUR WILKINSON, born in Hull, East Yorkshire, in 1916. An army career took him to India where he served as an officer with the 4/10 Gurkha Rifles during WWII. In India, he married an English woman ELSIE WESTON. They returned to England after the war then went to Malaya when he joined the Malay police force. His wife and two children returned to England and they were eventually divorced in the 1960s. He stayed in Malaya and I think, re-married. I believe he died about 20 years ago. He had a sister, EDITH, born in Hull around 1920. Their parents were GEORGE ARTHUR WILKINSON and HARRIET (ne LINKLATER.)

John Dean, born Hull, about 1867.
Searching for the name of John Dean's mother. John Dean was born in Hull, about 1867 and was the son of Thomas Dean ( also of Hull). On John's marriage certificate, his father was named Thomas, a labourer. I have been unable to find John Dean in the 1871 or 1881 censuses when he would have been living with his parents and would have been about 4 years of age, and 14 years of age, respectively. According to information in the 1891 census, John was born about 1866/7. I haven't found his birth record yet, and I am not aware of any siblings. John Dean married Jane Ann Penrose in 1887, in Hull. I hope that someone will be able to tell me who John's mother was as I haven't been able to find a record of Thomas Dean marrying anyone. Thomas Dean was born about 1841, so a marriage would have probably taken place somewhere between about 1863 and 1867, unless,of course, John's parents didn't marry. Thanks.
