red mail BEAUMONT Harold Gilmore
Seeking information regarding Harold Gilmore BEAUMONT, son of Josiah BEAUMONT and Mary W McKEAN, born 1859, Huddersfield YKS. Harold was recorded in the 1861 UK Census at Huddersfield and in the 1871 UK Census as a 12 year old at a school in Knaresbough YKS. He appears to have migrated to South Africa before the 1881 UK Census. Harold Gilmore BEAUMONT married Mariah TERRY in Northern Cape, South Africa in 1887 and they produced 11 children. Harold died in 1937 in Eastern Cape, South Africa. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
red mail 17 St Johns Road, Huddersfield
Greetings! I am trying to find out if anyone can tell me who was living at this address during 1915 to July 1916. This is the address that my grandfather, Harry PRESTON, gave when he joined the army in 1916 for himself, but NOT the address he gave for his wife and children who were living in Heckmondwike. Apparently there is nothing listed for this address in the 1911 census - it jumps from 15 to 19 St. Johns Rd., and it appears that there is now a church (modern) at this address. I am looking at the St. Johns Rd. that intersects with Clare Hill. Any help appreciated. Thank you from Toronto.
red mail BUXTON, John Thomas
When my ggrandmother, Henrietta Louisa DAY, died she had many children, an estranged husband, grandchildren and many friends, but she left all her money to John Thomas BUXTON. She was living at 15 Clare Hill Road in Huddersfield when she died from an accident on November 28, 1924. He might have been living at the same address but I don't know. Any information about Mr. Buxton would be greatly appreciated! Thank you from Toronto.
