red mail armitage family
I am looking for family members for the Armitage family from Huddersfield. My mother was Florence Armitage born 1920 or 1921. Her father was a sargeant died from heart attack while on duty around 1957. Florence had two brothers believed their names were George and Harold. I think one was an accountant and one was a headmaster. Florence's mother had at one time work in the Queen's service. I believe my mother worked as a cook in the British army. She married my father Lawrence Peachey who was in the Canadian Army (in England) and then moved to Canada when the war was over. She died in Canada in 1964. Anyone who can verify any information about Florence and her family would be appreciated (with names of her parents and brothers ).

red mail Arthur Phillips
Looking to find information about my grandfather's siblings. His siblings were born in 1905 and in 1907 in Huddersfield Yorkshire. I have discovered that both children died in 1911 aged 4 and 6 - my grandfather was born in 1902. Father was Thomas John Phillips and mother was Francis Beatrice Lancaster Phillips (nee Crossley). Also looking for information or directions to find information about my great grandfather Thomas John Phillips who died as a result of a enemy submarine attack on the SS Joseph Chamberlain in 1917 - he was a steward on the ship and was 40 years of age. He served in the British Military from 1914 until his death in 1917. Any information would be of great help. Sharon Frew.

red mail Clegg family Huddersfield 1820s
I am looking for information on Elizabeth Clegg born ca 1820 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. According to her marriage certificate in 1840 she was the daughter of John Clegg, a shopkeeper. The 1841 & 1851 censuses had her birthplace as ‘not in Surrey’ & 'Lambeth' respectively I am sure that the 1861 & 1871 birthplace of Huddersfield is correct. Elizabeth journeyed from Huddersfield to London sometime between 1820 & 1840 when she married. Certificate info: 1840: married, on 15 August in St Mary’s Church, Newington, Ralph Dunn(e) born in Ireland ca 1807 s/o John Dunn deceased. Elizabeth & Ralph lived at 6 Friar Street, Lambeth at the time of their marriage - he was a groom. He later bcame a bacon dryer. Census info for Elizabeth: 1841: Union Street, Southwark aged 21 1851: Paradise Street, Lambeth aged 31 1861: 9 Saunders Street, Lambeth aged 42 working as a laundress 1871: 13 John Street, Lambeth aged 51 Elizabeth & Ralph had these children: Elizabeth born 1842, Frances born 1845, (possibly a James Ralph born 1846), John born 1848, Sarah born 1850, Alice born 1854, Ralph James born 1857 died 1857. Sarah was my g g grandmother. Ralph died between 1861 when he was on the census and 1868 when Elizabeth his widow married James Nottingham although I can find no record of his death in any online database. I would be very grateful for pointers about how I can research Elizabeth further – her parents, where in Huddersfield she was born, baptism etc. Many thanks.
