Bell/ Holmes
Mary Bell married George Holmes 23/11/1822 in Huttons Ambo Yorkshire. I understand that Mary was born in Healaugh nr. Tadcaster but I have come across 2 Mary Bells !!! ...One born August 1796, parents William and Elizabeth, another born June 1798, parents Nathaniel and Ann. Any help please to put me on the right track, it would seem that Mary died quite young as George was on his own with three children by the 1841 census, but no clue as to which Mary he married ?. Thanks

red mail Hopwoods in Healaugh
I am interested in any information any one may have on the Hopwood family in Healaugh - particularly John (born 1805), Sarah Elizabeth (born 1864), Thomas (born 1835) and Eveline (born 1880). John was a tailor and later had a grocery store in the village and I believe at one time was living at the Vicarage (the Old Vicarage?) any inside information would be most welcome. Sarah Elizabeth married my great-grandfather, John Mawson.
red mail The Heretic of Healaugh
Does anyone have any information on the Rev. Charles Voysey's tenure at Healaugh? I am interested in how he was treated and received by the inhabitants. Was he popular or unpopular? Were his liberal views accepted or rejected? I have noticed my ancestors at the time who lived in Healaugh had their children baptised in Tadcaster or other nearby churches. I am wondering if this was because they did not like Voysey or his views?
red mail Healaugh - Downing
I am interested in William and Ann Downing, who are in Healaugh in 1841 onwards and their children, particularly Thomas. Does anyone know anything about them?
