red mail Jones family, Leather merchants, curriers Forest Hill
Charles Jones(Born 1789)and his son Thomas (b.1829) lived at Glanmire House, 41 London Rd,. Forest Hill and had a currier/ leather merchants business. I am seeking information about Thomas Jones' date and place of death. He was at the above address in 1891, but although all his 5 children were married and living away from Forest Hill by 1901, he is not resident in any of their households. Perhaps he had died between the 1891 and 1901 census returns? Any news would be gratefully received.

red mail Thomas NEWTON, bc 1861 in Forest Hill
I am trying to trace the birth of my partner's gg gfather Thomas Newton. The 1871 census gives his birth place as Forest Hill, with father Thomas NEWTON and mother Mary (Unknown), which is consistent with the area (Sydenham/Forest Hill) where subsequent generations lived. Usual online sources haven't thrown up any likely candidates, and the parents are also shy in 1861. Help from anyone with local Newton connections, or access to local records for this location would be much appreciated. Regards, Meg
