red mail ANDERSON family of Everton, Lancs
I am trying to research the family of my great grandfather Robert Henry Anderson, born in Everton in Feb 1879. He grew up to a cook in the merchant navy. I know his father was Thomas Anderson and his mother Mary Ann - his birth certificate looks as though her maiden name was Mear but it could be Near. They lived at 5 Howe Street for over 10 years and Thomas was an engraver. After that, the trail goes totally cold. I can't find Thomas' parents or birth or locate Mary Ann at all. The census records list her place of birth as being Durham but not consistently and Thomas is listed as from Nantwich also from Liverpool. Robert Henry is also an enigma. My grandmother (now passed away) always said he disappeared in 1914 the year she was born and believed killed in NY, but I have found his WWI army records from 1918 and think he was working on ships into at least the 1930s. Suspect he may have a second family in the Wirral as poss found his will record. Help or info about any aspect appreciated!
red mail Jenkins Family
Looking for details on the family of George Cooper Jenkins, in particular his wife Margaret McDonald White. George and Margaret were married 1857 Manchester Cathedral, Margaret's father is listed as Luke White. From the censuses Margaret was born in Scotland about 1840. Their eldest daughter was Margaret Lousia and if Margaret was Scottish her mother was most likely named Margaret.

red mail Higginbottom Family from Saddleworth to Liverpool
The above families lived in Everton and West Derby areas of Liverpool from the late 1800's and their descendants probably to this present day. Do the following names appear in your family tree? Samuel and Margaret Higginbottom (nee Eilbeck). Samuel was born in 1853 at Saddleworth Yorkshire. Family name also spelt as Hegginbottom in old parish registers. Samuel Higginbottoms cousin was Samuel Wasse Higginbottom Higginbottom. Samuel Wasse Higginbottom was an MP who died at the early age of 49 in 1902. Love to know what happened to his family. He was a colliery and ship owner. His son Henry Sharrock Higginbottom took over the business on his fathers death. Pat
