red mail Isabella Christie schoolteacher and grocer
I am looking for information on Isabella Christie, who was born in Elgin in 1863, daughter of John Christie and his wife Helen Ellis. Isabella was a school teacher in Heisker, Lochmaddy and Kinloch Rannoch between about 1883 and 1897, after which she returned to Thomshill near Elgin to look after her mother. She had 5 brothers and sisters living with her mother in 1891, they were Elizabeth, John, Annie, George and Alex. Isabella took over her mother's grocer's shop in Thomshill after her mother died in 1900 and she stayed there until 1910. I would like to know what happened to Isabella after this.

red mail Grant & Campbell families, Elgin and Edinburgh
I am looking for info regarding William Fraser Grant b. 1873 (Edinburgh) and his wife Maria Campbell b. 1871 (Edinburgh). They married on December 6, 1889. Maria died in 1948. William's parents were William Grant b. 1839 at Elgin (Craigellachie)and Margaret - possible surname McGill. Maria Campbell's parents were James Campbell and Margaret Inglis, Inglis probably being Margaret's name from a previous marriage rather than her maiden name. Maria had a step-sister called Alice Inglis. The parents of William Grant from Elgin may have been James Grant, b. 1796 and Jane(t) Masson b. 1806. Neither James nor Jane(t) were born in Elgish although their six children were - John, Alex, James, Margaret, Robert and the said William.
