red mail William Cessford, Esplanade Hotel, Dover
William Cessford was the proprietor of the Esplanade Hotel, Dover for many years - at least 1861 to 1901. He was born in London in 1832 and married Elizabeth Charlotte Wood - she was born in Dover and died there in 1880. Then William married an Ann Aspey on 5 July 1883 in Warrington. But something went very wrong and very quickly with this marriage because Ann remarried in Dover on 25 December 1886 - she described herself as the divorced wife of William Cessford. Has anyone come across any report on the divorce of William Cessford and Ann Aspey at some time between July 1883 and December 1886? I would love to find out more. Thanks Elaine
