I am researching my family who once lived in the devonport area of plymouth. My father Reginald Bennett bn. 1908, had a brother Alfred Ernest. Alfred i believe had a son named Michael who i believe resides in the Plymouth area. I would appreciate any information which may assist me in my research. Thank you.

Known to live in Plymouth/Devonport in the early 1900s. His sister, Charlotte Dorothy (Bird) Shelford (my grandmother) lived at Morice Square, c. 1900-1906; married Thomas Lawrie Shelford 29 Sept 1906; lived at 5 Salisbury Terrace c. 1906-1910 then at Swilly Lodge till 1941. Alfred William Bird had a son, Ernest Walter, also in Plymouth, and a sister ‘R' (name unknown) who married a man called Cardno. Descendants of these last two might have information regarding my grandmother Charlotte Dorothy Shelford.

Tracing SAMUEL JAMES POPE THEARLE, apprentice shipwright Devenport Dockyard in 1860, later became Chief Ship Surveyor to Lloyds Register. Married ELIZABETH NETTLETON prior to 1871. Later had four daughters, ELIZABETH, ALICE, ELLEN and ETHEL.

Father's name Philip TRIGGER, he was a seaman (deceased) by the time Emma married Thomas DIAL in June 1883 at Chester-le-Street. In 1881 she was enumerated asa visitor at a house in Gloucester and her occupation was listed as Evangelist.
