I am researching the Tinkers of Kent who moved to Plumstead, Woolwich in the mid to late 1800's. I am particularly interested in my Gt.Gt.Grandfather Alfred Tinker Married to Maria Day. I have no info on Alfred and spouse except that they had 7children, James George being my Gt.Grandfather. Any information concerning the Family would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for any info inc. burial details about my GGG Grandparents Peter Sterling 1803 - 1867 and Elizabeth Johnson Sterling nee Isworth 1801 - 1879. Both died in Dartford. I know of only 2 sons Henry Cozens Sterling 1831 - 1859 Australia and my GG Grandfather William Alfred Sterling 1832 - 1874 Australia. I believe Peter was with His Majesty's Customs but little else.

Info wanted about Thomas PERKINS b. 1851 and Eliza MEAD b.1855 who married in Dartford in 1875 and lived for many years at 167 Lowfield St. They were both born in Essex and Thomas was a labourer in the brewery as was his brother William. They hadat least 7 children - Sarah, Marian, Kate, Charles, Alfred, Olive and Harry.

William CARTER b. Dorset and his wife Sarah (RICHARDSON) returned to England from Australia in 1870 with children George Henry, Arthur William and Maud Equator. They lived first at 15 Orchard St then 27a Spital St Dartford. William worked as an upholsterer. Henry Richardson, William Godfrey, Bertie Campbell, Sarah Elizabeth, Alice Letitia and Ernest were born between 1872 and 1883. In 1883 George came back to Brisbane and in 1889 the rest of the family, minus Arthur, followed. William Godfrey, a watchmaker, returned to Dartford sometime before the 1901 census when he was living at 42 Spital St. as a boarder. Later that year he married Marian Elizabeth PERKINS and they had two children Ronald and Marian before leaving for Australia in 1914. Does anyone have any more details of these families whilst they were living in Dartford?

Hello. I am looking for information on my gg grandmother Eliza Langley who was born in Dartford, Kent about 1808. Her parents were George Langley and Sophia. She married Thomas Turley, 18 November, 1833 in East Barming Kent. Eliza died between July-September 1876. Eliza and Thomas had 5 children, William, George, Charles, James ( I am descended from James) and ?. I am writing from New Zealand. Thanks, Carolyn.
