Richard Varley of Gisburn, died in the USA 1840s Gisburn
I have been going back over some old letters that I was given copies of years ago. Starting to make a bit more sense of them with their being more information online. All the people seem to inter-related even if I am not completely sure of all the relationships! there are Kay, Varley, Shutt, Maxfield in Bolton and the Pendle / Skipton areas. One letter is dated 1843 and is about a Richard Varley from Gisburn who had been living at Boskey Bridge in America where he had died leaving "much property". His executor was trying to find heirs in England but never been able to find any more out about him. The letter (and others) can be seen by following the link from my Profile. MB
My G.G.G. Grandparents Edward Ibbotson (born 19 August 1813 at Conistone, Kettlewell) and Jane Ell (born 1813-15 at Cold Conistone, Gargrave) were married 8th August 1835 at Gargrave. Any information about either of their families would be greatly appreciated.
