red mail Robinson
I am trying to find my great grandfather whose name was James Robinson. His son, my grandfather Richard, was born in 1883,and he had 3 siblings :- Albert b.1879/80, Ada b. 1876 and Alice b. 1875.The only record I can find of them is in the 1901 census where it says they were all born in Clapham Surrey. Richard married Ethel Corbett in 1908, Albert married Maud Hooper in 1903 and Ada married Frederick Godden in 1901.They were all married at the Primative Methodist Chapel in Chase Side Enfield, Alice never married.I have been unable to trace any of them in any previous census' so do not know anything about James or his wife. If anybody has any information to help I would be most grateful, as I am going round in circles and getting no where !!

Has anyone any information on the 'Home for Children' at 8 Clapham Park Terrace in 1861. I find my great grandmother Annie Clark there in the 1861 census. The other thing I don't know is why she is there as Annie was born in Belgaum India in 1848 as I believe to a soldier and his wife but I don't know their names as I have been unable to trace Annie's birth. I am looking for information and/or descendents of the Town / Dawkins families who were located in Surrey and Essex counties. Elias Town (b1818 in Bloomfield, Kent) married Ann ? (b1823 in Poplar Middlesex). They had 3 children: Elizabeth Alice (b1852), George Henry (b1856) and Priscilla (b 1862) all of whom were born in Clapham, Surrey. George married Jane Sarah Eaton (nee Dawkins)(b1855 in Newington Surrey) (d/o Joseph DAWKINS and Sarah GATRELL). George & Sarah had 5 children: George Henry (b1886 in Clapham Surrey), Lily K. (b1888 in Clapham Surrey), Frank William (b1889 in Clapham Surrey), Jane (Jean) Alice (b1891 in Clapham Surrey) and Arthur Richard (b1893 - in West Ham, Essex). They lived in West Ham, Essex according to the 1901 Census. Jane (Jean) Alice Town immigrated to Canada about 1918. She was possibly "married" to a Joseph CAPORICCI but he died about 1918. She then married John APPLEYARD. Any information would be appreciated

red mail Seeking details John Rhodes Wilson and family (b abt 1854)
Would like to find out about John Rhodes Wilson. I can only say his wife was Mary MONNERY of the Monnerys of Southwark (b Lambeth 02/03/1854) and they had a daughter Irene M(ary?) WILSON, born Brixton abt 1879 and a son Frank H WILSON, born abt 1882,Clapham. They were apparently married 22 Dec 1877 in St Barnabas, South Kennington, Surrey but I cannot confirm this. He must have died sometime between 1881-2 and 1891 as Mary is a widow in the latter census. I cannot find his birth nor a definite entry in the 1881 census (Mary is in her father's house with children both in 1881 and 1891). Daughter Irene Mary married Frederick William SMITH(a book keeper born in Stratford/Avon abt 1879)possibly in Brentford district Dec qtr 1898 and had ason Victor A SMITH. Son Frank H was an estate agent in 1901.
