Augusta (Knowles) Elliott b 1855 d 1947
The October 06, 1947 issue of the Gloucestershire Echo has an article about probate being granted for "Mrs. Augusta Elliott, of The Myrtles, Slapton, near Kingsbridge, Devon, formerly of High-street, Cheltenham, who died on April 17 last". This newspaper article is the only information I have been able to find that describes her as a resident of Cheltenham. She may have resided there during the evacuation of the South Hams in WWII. All of the other information I have found about her is from Devon or from the USA. The National Probate calendar entry for 1947 lists her residence as The Myrtles, Slapton. I have located all of her census entries (and the 1939 National Registration) except for 1891, and I have a good deal of information about her travels back and forth between Slapton and the USA, but I'm trying to fill in some gaps in her timeline. I'd appreciate hearing about resources like electoral rolls or directories from Cheltenham that might place her in that area.
red mail William Guy Godwin
Looking for anyone who knew or knew of William Guy Godwin born around October 1900 in Gloucester, lived in Ross-on-Wye Herefordshire as a child/young man, served in WWI for a short period of time toward the very end of WWI, and probably died in Cheltenham Gloucestershire in 1944. He probably married or had children a woman with the last name May and had two daughters, who may have immigrated to Australia. William Guy's parents were Frederick and Rosa Godwin (Freeman), siblings Hugh, Ida, and Frederick Godwin. He is a distant relative.
red mail Benjamin CULL
Benjamin CULL was my 3x great grandfather. He was born in 1773 but can't find where, he died on the 9th March 1838. If anyone out there has a connection with Benjamin Cull or has more info I would love to hear from you. I have had this brick wall in my tree for years and would like to find out more.
