Ashby family
I am researching the ASHBY family of Chelsea. Starting with my GGG George Frederick ASHBY who came from Bishops Stortford, and for whom I have very few details. His son George Frederick Ashby 1828 -1912 was a carpenter, photographer and electrical engineer, so a man of many parts. His son Alfred Ashby was an Electrical Engineer and his Son Henry was an electrical engineer turned tool maker and body builder in the car industry. He also chauffeured rich Americans around Europe. George Frederik set up G F Ashby & Sons Electrical wholesaler and retailer of 184 King's Road, Chelsea, a shop which only shut in the 1980's. If anyone has any details of this family, wives as well as the men, I would love to hear from them. Thank you Dee

Frederick George Stevens born 26th September 1887 at 1 Brewer Street, Chelsea, son of Frederick Stevens and Eleanor Hearn, and sister of Margaret Eveline Stevens (my grandmother) born 18th October 1889. The 1891 census has them living at 129 Ilbert Street, Chelsea and in 1901 they are at 26 Southerton Road, Hammersmith. Harriet Gould c1860 - c1940
I am trying to trace the date of birth and death of my great grandmother Harriet Gould Higgs. She was alledgedly born c1860 but having searched Ancestry birth index for 10 years either side of 1860 I cannot find her birth recorded. From a newspaper article about my grandmother, she died during the second world war but I cannot find a record of her death either. I have found a record of her marriage to William Higgs. Her family were hatters and clothiers and lived in Leader St Chelsea.I think I have found relevant census entries but there is great confusion over her father's name, given as John Gould on her marriage certificate and Hugh Gould on census records. If anyone has any information about this Gould family, I would like to hear from them
