Green/ Purchase. I have discovered a gr gr grandfather & family living in Silver Street at Caton (with Littledale) Lancashire in 1876. Does anyone know whereabouts in Caton this street was, or if it still exists please? Is there any old maps of Caton that show Silver Street? Many Thanks.

I have an old brass carriage clock with a presentation plate, it reads = presented to MISS I CATON. from CATON SCHOOL.OCT 1915. Who was she ?, Why was she presented with the clock, was it a marriage present, retirement present, or a achievement award.

Seeking information or contacts related to the Croft family living in the vivinity of Caton in the Lune Valley in the 1800's. Robert Croft b.1786 in Melling, James Croft b. 1821 in Caton, William Croft b. 1852 Caton, Lawrence Croft b. 1877. They were farmers (owners) on the Green Bank Farm. These were my wife's maternal relatives as her grandmother was Mary Annie Croft from Caton, who lived with the Jackson's, who was the postmaster in Caton in the 1880's.

BOWKER, RALPH adm. sizar (age 17) at St John's, June 27, 1678, S. of James, clerk of Marple, Cheshire. B. at Caton, Lancs. School, Stockport. Matric. 1678. Probably brother of james (1684). James, Jr. and Ralph immigrated to Virginia and were rectors of St. Peter's Parrish, New Kent County, Virginia, and St. Stephen's Parrish, King and Queen County Parrish, respectively. Any information would be most appreciated.
