Has anyone any information about Kate MARSHALL, born in 1878 in Cannock, daughter of Thomas ROCK, blacksmith? She married William Henry MARSHALL in 1900 but was widowed young (around 1909) and at that point had two young children, Wilfred and Samuel. It is thought she ran a pub in the early 1900s alongside the Staffordshire canal. Family anecdotes also refer to the possibility that she had a second husband (Norman WILLIAMS) although details are vague about him. No dates available. Kate seems to have been quite a character, running a pub in those days as well as caring for two little boys. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Roma.

red mail George Ball or Gordan Reynolds!
We have looked for many years for our relation George Ball, c 1923, engaging the Salvation Army in our search in the 1950's and 1960's without any success. It would seem that George may have changed his name to Gordan Reynolds Paterson. Perhaps to sound more Scottish, as his wife Grace is from Scotland. George was in the Navy in world war 2. We know very little about his life other than both his wife and daughter were called Grace. Grace the daughter would have been born in the mid 1940's either in Cannock or Scotland. George returned to Scotland after the war with his family. We think he may have adopted the name Reynolds as he used to visit the Reynold's house frequently after his mother's death.
red mail Resting place of WW1 soldiers in France
We have had lots of help from Curiosity Fox readers in our past searches. We now wish to find the resting place of 3 brothers all born in MOXLEY AREA. They all died in action in France between 1916 and 1918 and we think when they enlisted they lived in CANNOCK, STAFFS. We want to visit their final resting place next year and need to ensure that we have the correct cemeteries to visit. Our research until now has confirmed that none had a grave only mention on the Memorials. The brothers were named Thomas Hartshorn, William Hartshorn and George Hartshorn, the sons of William and Caroline Hartshorn. We think that one brother Thomas may have survived the war.
red mail George Turner Blacksmith
