red mail Solicitor's Managing Clerk - 1878
I am looking for any information about William John Fox PALOWKAR who was a Solicitors Managing Clerk living at 1 Denmark Street, Byker in 1878 when his daughter - Eleanor Julia Fox Palowkar - was born to him and his partner Annie (previous married name of Jones). I would welcome any information from anyone living in the area at the moment as to this family's stay in Byker just before and just after 1878. For some unknown reason the family moved to the Isle of Wight in 1879 when Eleanor died of convulsions aged just 1year and 2days old. Did the family go there for Eleanors health or William's job as a Solicitors Managing Clerk ? Any ideas ? William John Fox Palowkar is the brother of my husband's great, great grandfather. William seems to have moved counties frequently, having been born in London, moved to Newcastle, then Birmingham, then to the Isle of Wight, and finally back in London where he died in 1891 aged 55. Any inforrmation, however insignificant, would be a great help.
