Neill family, Knocknadona, Aughnahough, Derriaghy, Co Antrim
I am looking for information about my great great grandparents John and Jane Neill and their ancestors. John was born in Knockndona townland in about 1802. He was a shoemaker by trade. Jane was born in about 1807. John died in Aughnahoe or Aughnahough, Derriaghy on 21 February 1877. Jane died there also on 16 February 1880. They are said to be buried in Derriaghy Churchyard. John had a brother James, born in 1806, who was a farmer. James' wife's name was Mary. She was born in 1807. James died on 13 February 1897 and Mary on 18 September 1881 at Knocknadona. They are both buried in Derriaghy Churchyard. One of James' and Mary's grandsons was Sir William Neill sometime MP for North Belfast and Lord Mayor of Belfast.
red mail Herrron, John in Magheragall
John Herron and his wife raised 2 sons, Adam and John at Magheragall, near Lisburn. Both sons joined the 6th Inniskilling Dragoon Guards and fought at the Battle of Waterloo where John (the son) died. Before John died he had been stationed in Hedon, E.Yorks and married a Jane Webster on 23 March 1808. They had 3 sons: William(b.1808), Adam(b.1810) and John(b.1815 in Derby). I'm looking for any information on the original Irish John who was a weaver and his unknown wife.
