red mail Magees in Dunmurry and Barnsley
James J. Magee was probably born in Dunmurry, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, about 1830. Later he moved to Barnsley Yorkshire where he worked as a linen bleacher. He married Mary Haywood from ?Barnsley and one of their children was Matilda Helena Magee who was born in Cudsworth near Barnsley in 1858,and christened in the Roman Catholic church (Holy Rood) in Barnsley. James Magee's nephew (?) Willie or Willy Magee, probably born in the late 1870s, was still living in Dunmurry in 1967. His wife, daughter and at least one grandchild also lived in Dunmurry in 1967 but the family later moved "to the seaside" because of the Troubles. One of this family was a dentist. This is all the information I have. Is anyone researching this Magee family, please? or the Haywoods in Barnsley?
